Police Conducting More Ops
In a bid to curb traffic offences, police issued 36 summonses out of 184 vehicles inspected during a midnight operation at the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL).
Johor Traffic Officer Deputy Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said the operation,which began at 11.30pm on Saturday (March 27), also included checks on 222 motorists and motorcycle pillion riders.
A total of 11 police officers and personnel from the state police Criminal Investigations and Traffic Enforcement Department were involved in the operation named Ops EDL.
“Most of the traffic summonses issued were for offences such as not possessing a driving licence, expired road tax and vehicle registration plates that do not follow the stipulated specifications,” he said.
No untoward incidents or arrests were made during the operations, which ended at around 3am.
